Atem grinned at Raphael. "Huh. Well I'm sure." He nodded. "So what d-" Suddenly the music stopped and Atem arched a brow. "Well what the hell?" He asked, his eyes scanning the room for who or whatever the fuck was going on. His only indication was a flash of white hair. He couldn't be assed to follow, but he certainly did make note of it for a later point in time. "So we should do the whole major thing right? Isn't that what people do at these things? Hi, I'm Atem and I'm 2o and double majoring in linguistics and English with a minor in anthropology."

Amane swayed slightly through the commotion due to the lack of music, and kept taking small sips of whatever fruity shit she'd picked up. Some kind of wine? Who knew. The room was just this shy of spinning, and she could feel a chill run down her back that was betrayed by the vibrant blush on her face. Oh yeah, this was a good night. When Valon came back and the music was blaring even louder than before, she hiccuped softly and smiled up at him. "Didja fix it?" "Uhuuu." He replied, taking a gulp of his bottle that was now, half way through. Thank God for high tolerance. When his lips parted away from the bottle, he sighed, satisfied of how the night was going. There was alcohol, good music, none of his annoying roommates around except for probably, the only cool person he could be friends with. Things were going better than expected. "Some noob though it was enough just to switch wires."

Fuck. It. Just, fuck the world, and fuck kids his own age, and fuck kids not his own age. Just, fuck people in general. He tolerated them on good days, hated them on the bad ones like this. Mind made up Bakura walked the last few feet to the back door of the building and crouched down on the concrete. The cold seeped through his jeans onto his legs as he worked, using the small Swiss army tool that had long since become his 'key to all things'tool. There was a satisfying sound of a lock clicking into place before the door swung open. Perfect. Bakura stood up and dusted off his pants before he nudged the door open with his elbow. It was dark, naturally, but his cellphone was good enough for providing a source of light to guide his way through the back electrical room. There was some sour level of disappointment in himself as he realized he was choosing this over just talking to another human being like a normal fucking kid. But who cared at this point. He found the breaker and readied himself to haul ass the moment this was done. One more breath for courage and he yanked the main breaker out. Then he turned tail and hauled ass out of the building, the library would be his destination, the mission end point, he would just toss the stolen breaker into the trash there then wait an hour until whatver disaster this would create would die down.

She nodded, head whirling with the motion. Damn, she'd had a bit more than she thought. Why was this a problem, again? Amane was just about to shakily set the bottle down on the table when the lights, the music, everything went out, leaving the entire room in a pitch blackness. The bottle missed the edge of the table by a hair and went shattering onto the floor, and Amane jumped with a shriek, backing up into her unfortunate drinking partner. "F-Fuck! Sorry, sorry." She stuttered, the darkness freaking her out just a bit more than it should have. Thank you, alcohol. Thank you very much.

He caught her just in time when she jumped in what seemed to be either surprise or terror. It was too dark to tell. "Hey, hey it's alrighty." Valon said, hovering an arm around her shoulder to guide her. "Be careful, there's broken glass everywhere." He said, eyes averting in every direction, looking for a sign of what was going on. Nobody seemed to have an idea.

"What do you plan on doing in the future? I mean, what kind of career do you have in mind?"

He nodded. "I don't know. There's a lot I can do. Everyone keeps saying I should teach, but I think I would like to do research on ancient dialects for a bit before I settle into anything." He grinned and cocked a hip on the wall. "What about you Raph, tit for tat and all that."

Jou sighed. It seemed, by the sound of it, Atem was occupied. He was out. Maybe he should just get out of here. He took out his shitty mobile and turned on the flashlight, heading out of the house.

"And you can always get into teaching later if that also interests you. As for myself, well, I'm interested in starting a career in criminology. The criminal mind and the conditions that lead people to do what they do has always fascinated me."

"Yes that's true I suppose." He gave a half shrug. "You know who wanted to study the criminal mind." He said leaning in conspiratorially. "Criminals." He said eyes dancing, his tone teasing. "I do admit it sounds fascinating."

Kisara wore a simple blue skirt and a white short sleeved top, she sat by herself, a glass of pop in one hand. She wasn't quite old enough to drink yet and even if she had been old enough she wouldn't have drank anyways; alcohol just didn't appeal to her. She wasn't sure why she was still here she only came along because she had thought it might not be a bad idea to mingle a little and get to know some of these people. Problem was she was terrible at starting a conversation, so she sat drinking a glass of pop and playing with her hair out of boredom.
Her head shot up and eyes darted about as the lights went out "What the hell?" She wondered out loud. She jumped a bit when she suddenly heard a shriek and made her way slowly over to where the sound came from, just about tripping over a table leg in the process.

Amane swayed a little more than was probably safe as she looked in the direction of the broken bottle, to the shadowed crowd of confused partygoers, to the guy who had become her de facto drinking partner and therefore good buddy. She hiccupped and blinked dazedly, absentmindedly reaching back towards the table for another bottle. "I knooow, I knooow, I'm f-fine~" She crooned, her voice pitched up and dreamily wavering.

Valon raised an eyebrow and gave the girl a half-smirk. She was wasted, he could tell by her every move and the way the spoke. There was also this bright red color spreading through her cheeks. Well, it didn't take her long. He guess perhaps she wasn't use such strong liquors. A shrug and a gulp of his own bottle was his response; at this point he didn't care about the lack of lightening but the music? Hell, it was a bit awkward without it, forcing people to actually talk to each other in order to fill the silence. He didn't like to talk. Well, he did but never said too much...if that made any sense. It did for him. "Well, this is just great." Valon commented with sarcasm, scartching the back of his head, looking around. "Seems nobody is goin' to do shit 'bout it."

As she shuffled closer Kisara began to recognize the voices, one of them belonged to the other white haired female, and the second voice belonged most definitely to the Aussie fellow.
She could just make out the outlines of where they were "Hey," She said once she got closer, "Your name's Valon, right?" She asked hoping she was talking to the right person. She wasn't always the best when it came to remembering names and the lack of light wasn't helping either.

The bottle in her hands was heavy, probably still unopened, but Amane didn't care seeing as how there was no way she had the coordination to open it at the moment. The music being out was dull, she thought, and it left a strange itching sensation in the back of her head, an almost tangible strangeness. A party without music. How dull. She cradled the bottle of... what was it, tequila? No, whiskey, hugging it to her chest as if it were a precious treasure.
It totally was.
A voice from behind her made her twist slowly, a look of mild confusion shifting into a dopey grin that worked its way across her flushed face. She had white hair too! Yay~ Amane opened her mouth to respond when her brain caught up that, oh, the girl hadn't addressed her, only Valon. Well then.
