The campus library, AKA the giant nerd hall for giant nerds. Private study quiet zones are on floors 4 and 5.

When the building came into sight Bakura stopped running and fell into a light jog that eventually fell into walking. The campus was empty at this time of night, all the main buildings closed for the day. The library was closed, yet when he tried the door it opened. Someone must have forgotten to lock it. Of maybe someone on the late shift was doing custodial work. Reasons aside, Bakura slipped in through the glass doors and walked up the entry stairs to the main portion of the building located on the second floor. His steps echoed in the absence of other sounds to drown them out a nd he could hear his own quick breathing as it worked to a slower rhythm after the run. After wondering around the bookshelfs for a few minutes he found a familiar author name and turned down that isle. Ah. The wonderful sight of old, paperback Gothic horror. It was easy finding Lovecraft and he pulled one of the books at random. It turned out to be "Beyond The Wall of Sleep." Perfect, he hadn't read that one in a few years. With that he sat down leaning against the shelf and started reading.

Seto decided that hiding out in bed probably wasn't going to do any good, especially if he wasn't even tired. He got up and walked around campus, suddenly finding himself in front of the library. "Huh. I guess it won't hurt to check it out."
His eyes widened in awe as he took in the scenery of the library. It was HUGE, and possibly the most beautiful thing he had ever seen in his life. "Now this is what I call heaven." Seto found himself wandering around what he assumed was the scifi section and started scanning through the book covers. A gold one caught his eye and he immediately grabbed it, double excitement hitting him when he saw that it was about dragons. Seto ran for the nearest seat he could find and began to read.

Anyone who was a fan of reading will understand that the world around you can go away when you're reading a particularly good book. Sounds, lights, other people, it can all go away. And it did, so much so that when another person entered the library Bakura didn't even notice, too absorbed in the book. The book itself however was not a book at all, but a short story. Most of Lovecraft's works had been short stories that were published in magazines during his time alive, and it was only after his death that most of the works had been placed in collections. So it was rather a surprise for Bakura to find that when he had finished the story, he noticed the sounds of breathing that were not his own. It was the middle of the night, and a hint of excitement and fear mingled together as he slowly stood up. Maybe it was because it was nighttime and the library was dark and abandoned, maybe it was leftover thoughts from the horror story he had just read, but whatever it was that made his heartbeat quicken as he crept toward the sounds was also what was making this so exciting. His breath stuttered when he caught sight of the shape of a person on one of the chairs. "Hey." He called out. "The library is closed you know."

Seto doesn't even know how long he's been in the library. All he knows is that he was already 1/3 into the book, fully engrossed in the story of dragons. He could stay here all night honestly, Seto did not plan on leaving until he had finished his book. He was about to turn the page until he heard a voice shout out. Shit, he'd been caught sneaking into the library. Turning slowly, he turned his head to face...another student? Seto's rapid heartbeat from the sudden voice started to regulate. "Uh..you know, I could say the same to you."

Jou's first question, upon entering the library, was why the hell there were books on the ceiling. At least it was nice and quiet so he'd probably get away with finding somewhere to sleep.
He started up the stairs.

Oh. Right. He had broken in as well. Although this technically wasn't breaking in considering the door had been open. Right? Sure lets go with that. "I'm the library assistant." He lied. "I needed to turn in some paperwork before the new semester starts. Why are you here?" Bakura made it a mental note to apply for the position for library assistant. At the very least it would offer him an excuse to spend more time in the library. Not to mention access to the closed sections that housed the books not allowed to leave the library. Why hadn't he already done this? Huh. "Anyway, I'm Bakura."

Was that... voices? Crap! He ducked behind a bookcase and ended up making a clatter as he tripped over and knocked half the books off a shelf.

"The library assistant?" Seto had a feeling that the other was lying, but didn't press the issue. Instead he just decided to roll with it. "I was just walking around and the door happened to be open?" Before he even knew it, Seto was inside and indulged in a dragon world. He hadn't been lying anyway, if the door is open then that means it open to go in to. Or at least to Seto it did. Seto stood up and stuck out his hand, "I'm Seto." Then he paused. "Wait Bakura?" That rung a bell in his head, "I think...that's my roommate's name as well?"

...What? "A-ah. Oh. Uh, hey-um, hello I mean. If you're Seto Kaiba, then I think so. I'm Bakura Doe. You're my roomate." So his roommate liked reading. That, that wasn't so bad, maybe this wouldn't be bad. Sharing space with someone who was at least quiet. Not like the sound he just heard. Someone had knocked over some books off a shelf. "Did you hear that?"

Hurriedly kneels and shoves the books back into place and out of order.

"I see, well--" he jumped at the sudden sound, looking over Bakura's shoulder to where the source of the sound was coming from. "We should go check it out. Looks like someone else is probably here as well."

What was it with people breaking into the library? I mean yeah he was here but he did this often. The sharp sting of fear was back as he followed with Seto towards the sound of the disturbance. "Hello?"

"Yo," he said, shoving the books back on the shelf with no semblance of order. "Don't mind me. Just came in to find a quiet place to sleep." He gave them a smile. The light was wrong and they were just out of range so he couldn't quite see who they were.

Seto approached the voice, his eyes narrowing at yet another student. Was tonight the night to break into places that were supposed to be closed? He blinked a couple of times, beginning to recongize the new intruder. "Wait, weren't you that guy from the party back then? And why sleep here? Don't you have a dorm? Or?" Seto's eyes then lingered on the scattered books. That must've been the noise they heard.
